Graduate Research Assistant

I graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy from Ewha Womans University in 2019 and hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Yonsei University. After pharmacy school, I worked as a hospital pharmacist for over two years at Seoul Asan Medical Center, in both an outpatient pharmacy and an anticancer injection preparation unit. During my time as a hospital pharmacist, I valued patient interaction but aspired to have a broader impact on a larger group of people. While providing pharmacy services was fulfilling, I wanted to go beyond individual care and contribute to the decision-making processes that influence the health outcomes of entire communities. With that goal, I am currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Pharmacy, Systems, Outcomes and Policy.

My research in the department has been diverse. Currently, my research involvement centers around analyzing type 2 diabetes treatment pathways and assessing their correlation with socioeconomic indicators. I am also engaged in a cost-effectiveness analysis through an Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) project and a signal detection study using clams data in the field of cardiovascular disease.

I am now excited to join Dr. Taylor Watterson’s team to expand my research experience into qualitative research. I look forward to learning more about occupational fatigue among Illinois pharmacy technicians.
