I graduated with bachelor’s degrees in speech pathology and behavioral sciences from Purdue University in 2014. While I initially went to school to become a clinician, an interest in research sparked in me while working with a professor to investigate sleep disruptions as a possible early indicator of autism spectrum disorder in young children.

Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of research settings and topics, spanning academic research on communication interventions for young children with disabilities, market research on accessibility issues of mental healthcare, and text data mining projects to quickly detect patient satisfaction with their healthcare, before coming to UIC.

At UIC, I’ve spent the last 4 years working with Dr. Simon Pickard and Dr. Todd Lee investigating the effectiveness of academic detailing (an individualized educational intervention targeted to healthcare providers) for opioid prescribing, and subsequently its impact on the opioid epidemic in the state. I’m excited to be working with Dr. Watterson and her projects on occupational fatigue and health informatics.
